A Quick Stroll Down Memory Lane

So last night I was watching American Idol (love it), and I had two flashbacks from the past... First, Paula Abdul making a comeback with a new album. Seems strange after all of these years, but I must admit while watching her dance it made me think back to the good old days of, 'Straight Up,' 'Forever Girl,' 'Cold-Hearted Snake,' 'Opposites Attract,' and how I wanted to dance just like her. (I mean what little girl didn't?)
Second, after American Idol was over, 'Don't Forget the Lyrics' began. Anyway, I don't usually watch this show, but was immediately hooked when they had Boys II Men come on as the contestants. It made me think, "Where did Boys II Men disappear to for all of these years?" Because you have to admit, they really do have excellent voices. Who doesn't love, 'End of the Road,' 'I'll Make Love To You,' 'MoTown Philly,' 'On Bended Knee,' 'Water Runs Dry,' 'It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday,' etc., etc. As they were singing it immediately took me back to 1990-1995ish. How crazy that Paula Abdul & Boys II Men are both trying to make a comeback. Anyway, it got me thinking, why are there only 3 members now with Boys II Men? What happened to the guy with the really deep voice? Anyway, what a fun night to reminisce about the good old days.

I'm so glad you wrote this post! I told Nick last night that while watching Paula's video I had butterflies in my tummy and felt like I was 10yrs old again. She is still my fave!!!!! (the only difference..I didn't study the video for 10 hours and learn the choreography) :)

I loved this post! When I was in the 5th grade, I did a lip-sinc dance to Paula Abdul with all of my girlfriends for the yearly talent show. We SERIOUSLY studied her moves for hours. And secondly, when flipping through channels last night, I also watched that lyric show. I didn't want the show to end. I LOVED THEM! If I ever hear they are coming to town, I might have to buy some tickets. You wanna join me? :)

Straight up! I love Paula Abdul. Good for her for having the guts to make her comeback.

When I was in 7th grade, I memorized all the words to Opposites Attract so I could lip-sync it at our ward talent show. (I'm a bit embarrassed that I did that now though...)

That is too funny! I laughed so hard when that video aired and had flashbacks of making up dance routines to "Straight up" on the fields during recess. Good times!
