Blessing Day

We celebrated William's Baby Blessing on November 22nd. What a wonderful day. Will looked adorable in his Blessing outfit (Yes, I am a biased mom). Afterwards we had a fun get together with family & friends. Thanks to everyone for helping us celebrate William's Blessing Day and making it so special. William is 12 weeks old. Wow, time is flying. He is as cute as ever, and we are just in love with our boy.

Happy Halloween

Will's first Halloween, as a darling pumpkin. We just love the kid. He is 2 months old, and time is flying by.
Somehow when updating the blog, I can't seem to write about anything by our cute little guy. I guess that's what happens with parenthood. Your life is suddenly all about your child. It's wonderful (and challenging), but we are hanging in there, and loving it.

Four Hours?

Who knew 4 hours of sleep could be called "wonderful"?

I remember talking to family, friends, and co-workers about the sleep schedule of their babies. I remember many of them saying that a 4 hour stretch is wonderful. I thought to myself, that sounds awful. I can't imagine being happy when only getting 4 hours of sleep. I love sleep, and would usually require/desire 8-9 hours of sleep each night. I now understand what people say about 4 hour stretches of sleep. We have veered away from the getting up every 2 hours (yeah!!!), and Will has done pretty well at night (cross our fingers). Ranging anywhere from 3-6 hours of stretches...get up to feed, and then usually 2-3 hours more. For this I am grateful.

Will is almost 6 weeks old. We are enjoying him more each day. Yes, we are still adjusting, sleep deprived, and trying to figure out this whole nursing thing (ugh!), but feel happy to have survived this long! Looking forward to more!

Our little William is here, and is now 15 days old. Crazy that today is actually his due date.
As you can guess we have been super busy, sleep deprived, and getting to know our little guy.
We just love him, and think he is adorable.
Labor & delivery went well, thank goodness. My water broke (I was originally unsure if it did??), contractions began a few hours after, and he was here less than 12 hours later.
William arrived ahead of schedule, and we are now grateful to have two weeks of parenting under our belt. Wow, what a life change!

Wow, this little baby of ours is fast approaching, CRAZY (33 days). We have been very fortunate to have some wonderful baby showers by our very thoughtful & generous family and friends. And we sure appreciate all the wonderful advice and support. We feel very blessed and fortunate.
We just wrapped up our birthing classes (check that off the 'to-do' list)...Wes especially loves to talk about all the birthing videos from the 1980's, and the breastfeeding class :) We had some 'strange' people in our class that Wes loved to tease. Especially this one gal who had to point out that everyone thinks she is having twins or triplets, because her belly is so large (nice way to get the attention on you, and make everyone look at you), and that she is allergic to latex (we heard it the 1st time, & the 2nd, 3rd, etc...), and don't forget that she wants everyone to know that although this is her 1st child, it most certainly is not her husband's 1st...I am sure he loved this.

Baby update

Yes, it has been a while. Our computer has been acting up. So downloading pictures has not been happening. But here we are, trucking along this summer. Anxiously preparing for our little bambino (56 days to his 'due date'), and in total denial about becoming parents, ahh!

First, the baby bump. Here it is at 32 weeks. Let the count down begin.

Fourth of July BBQ at my folks. Wes & I made these yummy S'mores cookies. Delish. Thank you Katie Miller for this recipe. It smells like a campfire up Millcreek in your kitchen. They are so good and so addicting. I want 'S'more' (hah!)

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Well lucky for us, the swine flu scare died down a bit, so Wes & I decided to take our planned trip to Cabo. And we found out there hasn't been one case of the swine flu on the Baja California peninsula...so honestly our chances of catching the swine flu are higher here in Utah, really :)
We took the direct flight to Cabo (which is always a bonus), we stayed at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset resort, which was beautiful-and the resort was only 40% full because so many people cancelled their vacations...so lucky again for us, it was pretty quiet.
We had such a fun time driving through Cabo (renting a car-highly recommended by us-and before I knew it, Wes was driving just like the locals, and fitting right in), walking through the local parts of town, eating some delicious carne asada tacos (with ample amounts of guacamole), relaxing by the pools, getting in the ocean, going to church & seeing all the cute kids, and of course we got suckered into a time share presentation (which although was long & brutal, was worth it because we did it on the first day, had a delicious breakfast, and got our entire car rental covered)-the best part of the presentation was when Wes said to the 5th salesperson, who was offering/pressuring us on who knows what-(we were VERY done with the whole timeshare presentation by now), and had said 'NO' over & over again... Wes says to him, "You could probably throw money at us, and we'd still say no at this time." I think he understood then that we wanted to get outa there.
Cabo was wonderful, and came at a perfect time for us...Wes graduating school, and of course before this little bambino comes into the world and changes our lives as we know it...so it was like a little 'babymoon' (as some call it), and in the Boyack family it was known as our 'last hurrah!'

The baby bump officially popped out at 24 weeks in Mexico! (it could have been all the guacamole, who knows?) Funny how the people there were so blunt about the baby & pregnancy. The first two people I talked to at the car rental asked me if I was having a boy or girl...funny how no one here asks if you are pregnant...just in case, I guess.

This is the little local restaurant we stumbled upon while walking through town, and couldn't resist because it smelled so good. We ate some delicious carne asada tacos, quesedillas, and chips with pico & guac. So yummy. Probably our favorite meal. We went back twice, and the waiter loved Wes.
